This is the sad birthday cake with which Baby Nick had to suffer. I am NOT a cake decorator by any stretch of the imagination...but I couldn't bare to have a plain white frosted cake, having no identifying marks as being for a 1st birthday. (I even attempted to draw a little "Bug")
Here he is gripping the entire piece with both hands. You can also get a feel for how big the piece was, for such a young child.
This is where he stuffed it in his mouth and proceeded to, quite literally, suck it down!
You can clearly see the intensity of quest for quick and total consumption of the cake.
Here is that cheesy smile again, complete with the allusion to the fact that he is currently in the process of sucking off all frosting from his forearm!

Wow Bug is SO incredibly adorable! I cant believe that he's one already. Hey, just so you know...I knew that it was a bug on the cake before you identified it- that means you did a great job decorating it! I miss you guys. I wish I could have been there.
