Last time we went to Fred Meyer's all together, Joey was being carried on Daddy's shoulders. If he is not sitting in the cart, he wants to either push the cart or sit on Daddy's shoulders. So we were leaving the store, and not even thinking about the added height, Nick walked right out the door.
I'm sure you can guess what happened next. SMACK!!! Nick ran Joey's forehead right into the top of the doorway! Joey didn't cry, but he looked horrified. For the next couple days, he kept talking about "Daddy hit porthead on store." It was very sad.
Tonight, we went to the store again. This time, not even remembering what happened last time, Nick was carrying Joey again. He was holding him against his chest, though, and not up on his shoulders. As we walk out the door, Joey gets a scared look in his eye, looks up at the doorway, and in a frightened voice says, "No bonk head?"
Talk about heartbreaking!

Please forgive me - I couldn't quit laughing while reading this. I never want Bubba to be hurt, but oh my goodness, he's way too cute. I love your descriptions Trin - ever think of being a writer? You and Ange could start a book together.
