Ever since Sunday, when we told Joey we would be going over to Cathy's for Thanksgiving, he has been looking forward to it. Every few minutes, Joey will remind me, "See Cafee, Sink Gibbon, be fun!" My response, "Yes, it will be fun to see Cathy on Thanksgiving!"
It is hard to get Joey to understand that sometimes we don't have what he wants. A typical breakfast conversation goes like this: "Wanna pie tart." "We don't have any poptarts." "NO! Wanna pie tart." "Sorry, Joey there are no poptarts left." "Wanna zert." "We don't have any dessert, and you need to eat something for breakfast first." "NO! Want apple pie." "I'm not making the apple pie until Thanksgiving. You can have cereal, toast, or a waffle." "Zert?" "No. You can have a waffle." "Peanut butter and seer-up?" "Yes, you may have peanut butter and syrup on your waffle."
Oh the pleasure of speaking with a toddler, almost exclusively!
