Mini Vacation

We are going on a mini vacation next week. Since Nick's business trip to Fairbanks was cut short last week, he is required to go back next week. We decided to make it a family journey. There is an apartment above the office that we could stay at. Although it may be difficult to keep the kids entertained and still quiet enough not to disturb business downstairs, we still thought it would be a good way for me to be able to see more of Alaska. Not to mention, I have family up in Fairbanks that I haven't seen in five years!

My dad's brother, Roger, and his wife Barb live in Fairbanks. I emailed them to let them know we would be up there and to see if we could get together sometime while we are there. They have never met Nick or our sons...and I love showing off my boys. I got an email back saying we were welcome to stay with them. It was such a generous offer. It will be so much easier to keep the boys entertained without worrying about disturbing a business. In a further email, they told me they have a trampoline and a play structure out back. Joey will have a blast! It will be so great to see them again, as well.

The one drawback....since we got rid of our cell phones, we will be out of phone contact for a few days! Oh well. I suppose I will live. (It's not like I get a call everyday.)

It's so nice when my boys go to bed easily! I actually have a few sane moments during my evening before going to bed myself. Well, not exactly sane, but at least it is easier to pretend!

Happy Birthday Mom! Hope you have a great day and a wonderful weekend at the beach!
