Nick and Paul have reached the end of the first leg of their journey. They picked up the U-Haul around noon yesterday and got it all loaded up. They got a good night's sleep and left around 4:30am this morning. Nick said that they drove through some snow flurries in Alaska, but nothing too distracting, nothing to hinder their driving.
Nick just called half an hour ago; they have reached Whitehorse, their first stop. They will, hopefully, get another good night sleep tonight so they can leave at the same time tomorrow. The plan is for them to drive all the way to Prince George tomorrow. I will hear from him again when they stop.
Only hearing from him once a day, and only after they have been driving for 15 hours, is not altogether easy. I'm not worried, but it would still be nice to know that they are safe throughout the day, rather than just when they stop for the night. But they get no reception in Canada, so I have to wait until they stop at the hotel for a call.
Just two more days. They plan to be in by Saturday....later in the evening. They will sleep that night before unloading the truck on Sunday. I will keep you updated as often as I am. It will be nice to have them home.
