Welcome To The Evergreen State

We now live in the state nicknamed the "Evergreen State."  However, this is what I am surrounded with! I have laughed to myself everytime we drive back from Oregon; as we cross the Columbia on Hwy 97, we are greeted with a sign that says "Welcome to the Evergreen State" and yet there is no greenery in sight.

We do have some beautiful fall foilage at the base of some of these hills (not pictured) that is quite stunning.  The area is not totally devoid of greenery....but for the most part, this is what see everywhere I go.
