Mommy Mode

I find it so funny how much Joey is in "mommy mode." He is so helpful with baby Nick which is nice, however, he also takes care of all his stuffed animals. Most all of his animals are "checked" and found "poopy" at some point during the day. Then Joey proceeds to change their diapers (although none of them have diapers on to begin with) and he uses one of baby's diapers and fastens them on his doll. He also thinks all of them need baths. Yesterday when I was in the shower, he runs to his bedroom and finds Sugar, whose a dog, and brings him in to me and starts opening the shower curtain saying "dog bath." I had to quickly nix that idea. What worries me most is that Joey knows how to turn the water on in the bathtub. I can only imagine the day I may be busy downstairs with baby Nick and hear the water running, and find a very soggy zoo in my bathroom!

I included a couple pictures of the inside of our townhouse. You will have to excuse the mess; I know it doesn't show, but I actually picked up and vacuumed before taking the pictures! There is a pile of dirty clothes and a pile of shoes on the stairs out of the camera's view and Joeys toy are piled up by the TV, also stategically left out of the picture!

This is our living room. I am standing on the landing of the stairs for this view.

This is our living room/dining room. It's very open and spacious. This picture had to be taken while standing on the front porch to be able to get all of it in.
Yesterday morning, Nick was a very happy baby. I got more smiles out of him at one time than I ever had before. I even managed to capture one on camera.

Although Joey is in "mommy mode," he still wants everyone to know he is very manly. Therefore, he had to take off his shirt (could it be because he got dinner all over it?) and show off his "shrong mushols!" He makes the grunting sound to go with it, which is captured so well in the picture. It sounds more like "oh", but in a very manly grunt!

It's so nice that it is Friday. That means only two days until I get to go to church. I leave church on Sunday saying "I can't wait until Thursday" and leave choir on Thursday saying "I can't wait until Sunday." I love that Joey also enjoys church. Several times a week he asks to go to church and I have to tell him "it's not church day." He always says "church fun." The only thing sad about it is that he still thinks he gets to see Aunt Aubrey and Jesse when he gets to church but I have to remind him that they go to a different church. I wish with all my heart that I could say he would see Aunt Aubrey and Jesse at church, or that we could go "bye-bye soon see Papa Buddy." Our computer is set to show a slide show of the pictures for a screen saver and Joey will sit up at the computer for the entire 10-15 minutes and name everybody in the pictures as they pop up. The other day, one of the pictures of Nanny came up and Joey blew her kisses. It's sad to think that there will be a time when Joey stops asking to see his family, it will just be normal that we don't get to see them.

Joey is asking for some "chachit milk" so I better get him something to drink. If I want to have anything to eat today, I better clean the dishes too!
