Bug saw the doctor today for his four month check up. She was very impressed with how well he is doing and how strong he is. He is scooting around a little on his tummy, and if he could just get his knees under him a little bit more, he would really be scooting. She was amazed at how well he could hold his head up, and how strong his back was.
Here's the breakdown on his size: Bug weighs 15 lbs and 14 oz and is in the 75th percentile for weight, down from the 90th percentile at his two month check up. Bug is 26 inches tall! He is in the 85th percentile for height, up from the 75th percentile at his two month check. His head circumference is 42.75cm, about the 60th percentile, up from the 50th percentile from his last check.
How does he compare to Joey at that age? Joey weighed 20 lbs 3oz, was 25.75 inches tall, and his head circumference was 45cm.
Dr. Bateman recommended starting Bug on solid food as he seems to be developmentally ready. She said that his drooling so much shows that he has produced the necessary enzymes to break down solid food, and because he can hold himself up so well, that is another sign he may be ready. So we will give it a try in the next week or so.
He did well with his shots, only cried for a minute. He needed some cuddling before getting him dressed and buckled in his car seat, but then fell asleep pretty quickly after that. The doctor confused me for a second when she first came in because she said, "How is this little Peanut doing?" I almost answered her at I am fine, but caught myself just in time to say that he was doing fine.
Baby Nick seems to be quite hungry right now, he keeps chomping on my chin, so I better get him fed before he gets too upset.
