She's Here!!

Finally, Grandma's here. It is so nice to have her. All four of us went to pick her up from the airport since the kids were awake anyway. The boys and I stayed in the car while Nick went in to help Grandma with her luggage. It was almost 12:30am by the time we left the airport. When we got home, we gave her a quick tour, watched Joey bounce off a few walls and visited for a little while.

I had the best of intentions to get us all up and ready for church yesterday, but since we didn't get to bed until 2:00am, that didn't exactly happened. So we had a lazy morning and then went out for brunch. After we ate, because we had a completely empty fridge and pantry, we spent the next three hours doing our grocery shopping.

We spent the rest of the afternoon putting groceries away and visiting. For dinner we had purchased a rotisserie chicken and prepared Cesar salad, so we didn't have any cooking to do. It was a very relaxing day (not that shopping is relaxing, but the rest of the day was.)

Today, Nick went in to work for a couple hours to make sure their new driver was comfortable enough with his responsibilities and then he came home. He is taking a couple days of while our company is here.

Grandma's sister Edna is up from Juneau to visit her daughter Cathy, so the four of us girls will go out for a hot fudge sundae this evening. (We really wish you were here for this part, Mom.) Nick will stay home with the boys, so I will make sure to bring him a treat as well.

A couple things on the menu this week: Grandma's Stroganoff, which is absolutely delicious and one of Nick's favorite, and Fettuccine Alfredo, which is one of my favorites. So anyone who wants to come is more than welcome to join us! (Nothing draws people close like great food, right?)

I am ALWAYS up for my Mom's cooking. Then again, I'm always up for just about everything about her. I really hope you can thoroughly enjoy your time with her this week, Trin. Believe it or not, You have some of HER traits in you also. (The good ones, of course)
Love and miss you,
Mom
